Starling International Management Limited is a Dubai-based family office focused on private equity and venture capital, rather than real estate. It invests globally across North America, Europe, Asia, the Pacific Rim and the MENA region, with a portfolio spanning buyout, growth and venture capital funds. The firm invests principally through limited partnerships, alongside selective co-investments and direct investments in companies. Its fund commitments start at $5 million and can reach $50 million for selected funds; direct company investments have ranged from $1 million to $10 million. Starling says it conducts extensive due diligence on 30 to 40 of roughly 140 proposals it receives each year, typically investing in three to five opportunities, and monitors its funds on an ongoing basis. It also looks for LP-friendly governance and detailed reporting in its fund partnerships. But its stated investment exclusions explicitly include real estate, so it is not a property-equity LP for real estate sponsors.
